202-874-3254. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is conducting
market reaserch from prospective offerors who are capable of supplying
intaglio inks which can be used for printing U.S. currency on I-8 and
I-10 presses. The inks must meet the minimum requirements in BEP
specification I:ICWC-1B, August 29, 1994 and be transparent in the
infrared so that printed U.S. Currency notes are machine readable. The
BEP is requesting prospective offerors to provide 6 oz. test samples
of their Intaglio ink(s) with Material Saftey Data Sheets (MSDS) within
30 days of this notice. The 6 oz. test samples and MSDS should be sent
to : Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Attn: Pamela Switzer, Office of
Procurement, Material & IT Contracts Division, Washington, D.C. 20228.
After the initial testing, the BEP will make a determination if larger
quantities (50 lbs) of samples that are of interest to the BEP may be
procured as small purchases for further evaluation. Additional test
samples will be purchased of up to 50 lbs. from prospective offeror(s)
with a turnaround time of 90 days. If offerors have any further
