Laboratory/California Institute of Technology (JPL/Caltech), operating
under a prime contract with the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA), seeks to determine the interest of potential
proposers for records storage, archival services, and retrieval
services. The contractor shall assume responsibility for archival
materials and inactive materials that are currently on-site and
off-site the JPL facility and transfer these materials to the
contractor's designated storage facility. The contractor shall perform
archival services for JPL that include, but are not limited to, the
following: conserving and preserving; arranging and describing;
cataloging; and storing and retrieving the records. The contractor
must: (1) maintain a facility clean from dirt and pollution that meets
the recommended environmental controls and level of security for
conducting archival services and for the storage, preservation, and
retrieval of archival materials; (2) demonstrate a thorough familiarity
with existing and future archival policies, procedures, and practices;
(3) receive, record identifying data in a database and acknowledge
receipt of records transferred; (4) store processed and unprocessed
records in keeping with archival policies and procedures; (5)
demonstrate professional capability for the ongoing conserving and
preserving, arranging and describing, and cataloging of unprocessed
historical JPL records; (6) conserve, preserve, arrange, and describe
unprocessed records following archival policies and procedures; (7)
catalog unprocessed records following policies and procedures; (8)
provide, operate, and maintain computer hardware and software for the
effective conservation, preservation, arrangement, description,
cataloging, storage, and retrieval of unprocessed and processed JPL
historical records; (9) provide photocopy service for archival
materials as requested; (10) enter collection and catalog descriptions
of unprocessed records it creates into the BEACON/Archives system;
(11) find unprocessed and processed record stored as requested; (12)
pick up, store, retrieve, and deliver inactive materials for JPL
employees and organizations; (13) provide and maintain electronic
databases for all services provided; (14) provide certified records
destruction services as requested; and (15) provide digital imaging
services for non-archival materials as requested that comply with
digital imaging standards. The following information is requested: (1)

information including company sales for the past three years; and (4)
a list of current contracts similar to this requirement. Please note
that teaming arrangements are allowed. It is emphasized that the
requested information is for preliminary planning purposes only, and
does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that JPL will
solicit you for such a procurement in the future. Neither JPL nor the
Government will be responsible for any costs incurred by you in
