99 MISCELLANEOUS, REQUEST FOR COMMERCIAL TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION "This is a request for information to the commercial transportation industry in support of United States Transportation Command (USTC), located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. USTRANSCOM/J4-BC is conducting extensive market research pertaining to the commercial business processes used for cargo and freight transportation. The data being gathered will be used to support USTC's understanding of the best commercial transportation business processes and facilitate development of strategies that provide a seamless transition of cargo/freight between organic Department of Defense (DoD) information systems and commercial carriers in both peacetime and war. USTC's vision involves the development of both DoD and commercial systems towards a compatible infrastructure to support a continuous and efficient exchange of transportation information. Consequently, USTRANSCOM/J4-BC is soliciting an open exchange of information with commercial transportation carriers to gain a sound understanding of the best transportation business processes used in industry. USTRANSCOM/J4-BC will hold meetings with interested parties to discuss in detail this vision and best business processes. The location and time for the meetings will be as mutually agreed to.
