The National Institutes of Health, (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a Spectra-Physics or equivilant Turnable Solid State Laser System and accessories which are necessary for a new research project involving the development of optically-pumped nuclear magnetic resonance in structural studies of HIV-related peptides and proteins. The following outlines the specifications for the required system: 1) Laser System-Tsunami, regeneratively mode-locked Ti Sapphire; 2) Substitute GTI and BiFi for ps Operation; 3) Tsunami Optics, 690-800nm 2 ps; 4) Tsunami Optics 800-900nm 130 ps; 5) Laser System/Fiber-Coupled Diode-Pumped, Frequency Doubled Vanadate; 6) Laser System Continuous Wave Ti Sapphire; 7) Power Meter System-High Power, Portable Broadband Optical; 8) Tsunami Diagnostics Package for Continuous Monitoring of Output Wavelength & Spectrum; 9) Shipping, Inside Delivery and Installation Charges. The NIDDK also requests a copy of the vendor's published price list and descriptive literature for the above items. The equipment needed has specifications that must be met and are described in the Request for Quotations (RFQ) package. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. All requests for quotations must be within the Commercial Simplified Acquisition threshold of (5) five million dollars. It is anticipated that the RFQ package NIH-NIDDK-97-288 will be available (fifteen) 15 days after the publication date of the synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due (ten) 10 days after the release of the RFQ package. The anticipated award date is September 5, 1997.
