Venable/Mark Weinstein, (202)927-0567 The US Customs Service plans to procure from Vion Corporation of Washington DC on a noncompetitive basis 1 additional Robot Track and enclosure for 24 tape transports to be added to the EMASS Tape Library System resident at the US Custom Service Data Center located in Newington Va. The existing BSS 8800 Automatic Tape Library (ALT) configuration at the Newington Data Center has eight tape transports. The ALT is configured with only enough robot track and enclosures to handle those tape transports. All responsible sources are invited to submit an affirmative response inclusive of a price quotation, pricing information, technical literature etc. which would indicate that your hardware and equipment meets the government requirement. Responses should be mailed to the address set forth in this synopsis. Responses which will be considered by Customs must be received not later than Sept 9, 1997. If no responses are received by this date, then this requirement will be negotiated on a sole source basis with Vion Corporation. No solicitation is available for this requirement. (0234)
