COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF __ __ ____ U.S. Army ARDEC, AMSTA-AR-PCW-D, Bldg 10, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 7806-5000 OBJECTIVE SNIPER WEAPON PARAMETRIC EFFECTS DUE The government is seeking technical information on the state-of-the-art in long-range rifle technology, lightweight construction and recoil mitigation. The government is specifically looking for performance characteristics of state-of-the-art sniper rifle systems and subsystems. Component weight, length, and performance (including accuracy, noise and flash) for sniper rifle barrels, muzzle devices, rifle actions, trigger mechanisms, fire control interfaces, stocks, bipods, monopods, and recoil mitigation devices are being solicited for inclusion in the Objective Sniper Weapon Parametric Effects effort. The objective of this effort is to quantify weapon related contributions to overall system delivery error, and identify trade-offs associated with minimizing delivery error in a system which addresses the Objective Sniper Weapon (OSW) weight, transportability, range, and hit probability goals. The OSW goals are a system weight of less than 15 pounds (10 pounds desired), probability of hit of 1.0 against personnel out to 1000 meters required (1200 meters desired), and a probability of a hit of 1.0 against materiel (four foot by four foot target) out to 1500 meters required (2000 meters desired). Targets will include individual personnel with body armor, personnel in fortifications, light vehicles, and high value materiel. The time frame for system fielding is 2010. All inquiries and responses should be directed to the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center, ATTN: AMSTA-AR-PC-D (Bella Iwanicki),Bldg.10, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. Proprietary information will not be disclosed outside the U.S. Government. Information provided will be used to develop specific requirements for a future sniper weapon. This is only a Market Survey, not a pre- solicitation notice. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a pre-solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. Respondents should submit their brochures, technical data, or other information relative to the performance of their product within 30 days from the date of this publication. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. (0234)
