The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) is seeking commercial vendors of a technology which utilizes the ground as the primary means of data transmission between two points at least one kilometer apart. The system must use low-frequency (2KHZ -- 1 MHZ) conduction current transmissions to provide a bidirectional transmission link that is wireless, secure, and rapidly deployable. Potential systems must operate without the benefit of line-of-sight transmission nor must it require expensive repeaters to complete the data link. The system must integrate with existing security systems. Parties capable of meeting these requirements are requested to provide, by 30 Sep 97: (1) specification or engineering documents or brochures which describe the capabilities of their commercially developed systems which meet the requirements specified above; (2) cost of these systems, both individually and in quantity; (3) points of contact which can provide additional information, if required.
