tolanv@quantico.usmc.mil. The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to
procure under full and open competition a quantity of four Mobile Gas
Chromatograph and Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) Laboratory systems. The
Mobile GCMS is intended to provide a state-of-the-art vehicle mounted
chemical analysis suite. The GCMS is intended to operate in an
uncontaminated field environment. The GCMS must provide initial
screening and confirmatory analysis of unknown industrial and chemical
warfare agents. The GCMS must be able to detect and identify the
74,000+ chemical compounds listed in the National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) library in addition to chemical warfare
agents such as nerve, blister, and blood agents. The GCMS must accept
air samples from Tenax type sampling tubes. The GCMS must provide for
safe and flexible sample preparation methods and for sample
concentration and archiving. The power supply for the GCMS must be
self-contained within the GCMS vehicle. Both the power supply and the
vehicle must be diesel fueled. The inside of the GCMS should be
temperature controlled to maintain comfortable working conditions. The
GCMS must provide inside space for at least one seated operator in
addition to the vehicle driver. The GCMS must be safe for air transport
and must fit the criteria for transport by C130 transport aircraft. The
GCMS must feature simplified operation procedures to allow
non-technical operators to effectively use the equipment. The GCMS
should be independently tested for safe operation and detection
capabilities. This procurement is following a Non-Developmental
Item/Commercial Off The Shelf strategy. All requests for the
solicitation must be in writing. Requests may be sent through the U.S.
Mail to the address above, may be sent electronically to the e-mail
