324-2947 This is a Commercial Item procurement prepared in accordance
with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart
12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. The solicitation document and incorporated prevision and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC)
90-46. This solicitation is being issued under Request for Quotation
Number (RFQ) # 70483. This solicitation is under Simplified Acquisition
Procedures (SAP), FAR Subpart 13.6, Test Program, and is a 100% set
aside for Small Business. The Standard Industrial Classification is
3911 and Business Size Standards is 500 employees. The contract type is
Firm-Fix price-Indefinite Delivery- Indefinite Quantity with base year
plus 4 one-year options. The minimum requirements are: CLIN# 1: FBI
Service Award Keys-The keys are to be made of 10K yellow gold, free of
pits and scales; the weight of each key shall be 4.65 grams plus or
minus one percent; the weight does not include jump rings;all keys are
to be furnished with a jump ring made of 10K yellow gold with wire
size .051. The FBI will provide the gold upon award for the Service
Award keys. Samples of Service Award keys are available by appointment
at FBI Headquarters-Washington, D.C..CLIN# 2: Special Agent Badges:
Badges are to have a curvature of 1/16 of an inch; The entire badge is
to be 14K gold filled including the pin and the safety catch; Badges
are to be manufactured with 12 gauge stock with the finished product
being no less than 14 gauge; Badges shall have a solid back; each badge
must be equipped with genuine jeweler's hard-soldered joint pin and
revolving safety catch. All parts of the badge shall be gold plated;
All lettering and the design on the front of the badge are to be in
relief; Beveled edges are to be polished; Badges must be numbered
consecutively on the reverse side ( the beginning and ending numbers
will be provided by the FBI), depth of the numbers shall be a minimum
of 1/32 of an inch, and the minimum height shall be at lease 3/16 of an
inch; Lettering on the front of the badge must be hand lapped. The gold
and Die Plates for Special Agent Badges will be provided by the FBI
upon award. The Die Plates and all unused gold are the property of the
Government and must be returned to the FBI. Samples of the Special
Agent Badges are available by appointment at FBI
Headquarter-Washington, D.C.. CLIN# 3: Retirement Plaques: A shadow box
make of basswood, stained medium walnut, and has a black accent line on
top; The frame has two rabbets cut out-one for the press board insert
and one for the gator board back, outside measurement is 13-1/2" X
9-9/16". Items to be mounted on each plaque will be provided by the
FBI. Samples of the Retirement Plaques are available by appointment at
FBI Headquarters-Washington, D.C.. Estimated minimum and maximum for
the above items will be stated in the solicitations. Contractors are
requested to submit samples of similar work to be evaluated by the FBI.
Contractors should Provide at least three references (commercial,
State/Local Govt. or Federal Govt.). This will be a best value
procurement based on past performance, quality of the product, price
and delivery. This contract is to be awarded late October 1997, upon
the availability of funds. Solicitation request may be obtained 15 days
