The Government intends to purchase on a Sole Source Basis a WL-9000 Meteorological Processing System as manufactured by Viz Manufacturing Company which includes a 403 MHZ receiver and navigational aid Loran-C and the Mark II Microsonde (1 each). The Government requires this system to be compatible with other existing Viz Manufacturing systems and software which are already installed at other installation Government facilities. The W-9000 system includes the balloon number as part of the data stream so more than one balloon can be in the air at the same time for identification purposes. The system and software must be compatible with existing systems as components must have the capability to be exchanged with current equipment to provide continuous operation. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources shall provide manufacturer's specifications with their faxed quote which shall be considered by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448-5100.
