Panknin (817) 288-1305 (Site Code DATM01) The GAVELS motion analysis workstation is a digital system to be used to locate artillery and mortar round firings in three-dimensions. GAVELS will use digitized video in recording and locating artillery-mortar bursts involving the integration of GPS and multiple camera data to determine burst location-time within .001 second. System requirements include: turn-key workstation and systems training, Pentium or Pentium Pro II host processor, 32 Meg Ram, SCSI hard drive, Windows operating system, 1GB JAZZ drive, CD-ROM, S-VHS tape player with on-screen playback control, 17" High resolution monitor, cabinet for hardware. Data handling requirements will include: full frame motion, continuous video-to disk capture at 30 frames per second -- 2 fields per frame, 6.5:1 min and 50:1 max hardware image compression at capture, integrated motional analysis application, film to video conversion with timing mark reference. Interface capabilities to include: computer-controlled interface cable patch kit, S-video (Y/C) analog interface, RS-170 analog interface, NTSC analog interface, external SCSI interface, and ability to interface with data archive peripherals.
