F -- TREE TOPPING SOL SOL R6-6-97-113Q DUE 092297 POC Contracting Section, 503/668-1621 The purpose of this solicitation is to secure services for removing the tops of trees to create a tree suitable for use by cavity nesting wildlife and to protect the tree from windthrow potential. Topping shall be done with power saws on approximately 500 trees; topping with explosives will not be allowed. Work is to be done on the Zigzag Ranger District of the Mt. Hood National Forest.
