decking/rails for footbridge; 6,740 metric ton hot asphalt concrete
pavement; 2,100 metric ton minor hot asphalt concrete; 4,710 sq meters
geotextiles; 405 ton asphalt cement; 67 ton hydrated lime; 45,140 sq
meter cold recycled asphalt base course; 121 metric ton emulsified
asphalt; 76 metric ton lime; 16 metric ton asphalt tack coat; 8 hectare
clearing/grubbing; 60 cu meter minor concrete; 530 meter curb/gutter;
7 cu meter structural concrete; 5,200 sq meter road reconditioning; 720
cu meter aggregate -- topsoil; 148 meter culverts; 2,250 meter silt
fence; 20 meter diversion channel; 10,110 cu meter
excavation/embankment; 1,590 cu meter subexcavation; 3,310 cu meter
select borrow; 18,199 sq meter scarify asphalt surface; 19,000 cu meter
watering; 6,950 sq meter roadway obliteration; 933 meter log rail
fence; 110 cu meter dry-laid stone wall; 30,000 sq meter topsoil; 1,405
cu meter riprap; 2,190 sq meter sidewalk; 160 sq meter stone masonry;
86 meter glu-lam timber beams for foot bridge; 8,000 hr flagger; 1,000
hr pilot car; 1,200 hr traffic control laborer; 200 days
traffic/safety supervisor; 31,200 meter pavement markings; and other
smaller items of work. This project is located approximately 44
kilometers east of Columbia Falls, Montana in Glacier National Park by
Avalanche Campground. PRELIMINARY PLANS will be issued in early Fall
97 with solicitation documents available in February 98. -- - The
following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
