Beckman 202-268-5699 The United States Postal Service (USPS) is seeking
to pre-qualify vendors for the Enhanced Street Performance System. The
USPS objective is to enhance the ability of the delivery unit managers
and supervisors to effectively manage carrier operations. The Phase I
delivery requirement is for approximately 4220 vehicle-based systems at
approximately 169 delivery units. Operational Phase II deployment could
require as many as 80,000 vehicles at 4000 delivery units. Interested
companies should have experience in GPS location technology and
vehical/route data collection systems. Companies seeking to bid on this
requirement should have capability of delivering and deploying
approximately 1200 vehicle-based systems per month starting in
June/July 1998, on a national scale. In addition, the company must be
capable of performing and/or supporting ESP system software
development, training, troubleshooting, maintence, and help desk
activities. Pre-qualification does not constitute contract award. The
