The following notification is being circulated in accordance with
Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.389. 1. Member to Agreement notifying:
NETHERLANDS. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles
3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Health, Welfare and
Sports. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the
notification can be indicated if different from above. National Enquiry
Point. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN
where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be
provided in addition, where applicable): Pesticides. 5. Title, number
of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Amendment to the
Regulation Ruling Out Certain Pesticides (2 pages, available in
English). . 6. Description of content: The purpose of the amendment is
to supplement the Regulation of 1978, ruling out certain pesticides.
This Regulation applies the proviso specified in Article 1, third
paragraph, of the Pesticides Act 1962 to placecertain pesticides or
groups of pesticides outside the scope of law. It concerns pesticides
which are deemed harmless such that law enforcement is unnecessary or
useless in the light of the accompanying administrative procedures and
inspection. Inclusion of the present pesticides is in line with this.
These products only consist of natural oils, i.e., coconut and
sunflower oil, lecithin and water and are intended to keep away insects
such as cockroaches, flies, ants, bed bugs and fleas so as to prevent
nuisance to humans. 7. Objective and rationale: See under point 8. 8.
