On March 17, 1997, the Department of Energy (DOE) Oak Ridge Operations (ORO) issued a Commerce Business Daily announcement seeking 8(a) firms interested in providing oversight of environmental remediation at its Weldon Spring Site (WSSRAP) in St. Charles Missouri. The services to be performed include the areas of: technical environmental studies, regulatory oversight of a technical nature, quality assurance, safety oversight, and project planning. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 8744 -- Environmental Remediation Services. The RFP was issued on July 7, 1997 with a proposal due date of August 6, 1997. Based on the types of questions received from potential offerors, it appears that the structure of the RFP may have limited competition. Therefore it has been determined that it is in the Government's best interest to amend the RFP. All interested companies who did not previously submit a proposal may do so, and those companies who submitted proposals will be allowed to submit an amendment.
