The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement for the modification of C139 for the F/A-18 COmbined Interrogator/Transponder (CIT) Identification Friend/FOe Phase II system integration. NAVAIR intends to negotiate with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Corporation, the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and as such, the only firm possessing the technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling special test equipment necessary to perform the effort within the required timeframe.
