(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written RFQ will not be issued. (ii) Solicitation No. is RFQ 07-M9323, a request for quotation. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 90-46. (iv) This combined/solicitation is not under any set aside. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3541 size standard 500. (v), (vi), (vii) One Buffalo Model 1-1/2D Universal Iron Worker basic machine (must be a direct replacement for existing equipment, Buffalo Forge Model 1 iron worker), including punch station with single punch tools for structural sections of plate and round punches, one (01) each flat and bevel dies, bar cutter station with knives for angle (square and mitre cuts) round and square; one (1) bar shear station with reversible shear blades; electronic anti-repeat controls, Bijor auto lube system and hand operated lubricator; one each special die block for 3, 4, and 5 inch beams and channels, slug shutes at punch and coper stations, adjustable work light, built-in notcher on punch end, built-in coper on shear end, work support for flat bar shear station, one (1) set round punch and dies 1/8 through 1-1/16 inch. Shall be 3 HP, 1800 RPM, 3 phase 60GZ, 230/460 volts; magnetic combination full voltage starter with 110 volt control circuit and fused disconnect. NOTICE TO OFFERORS: Reference is made to enclosure (1) of COMDTINST 4200.49 -- It is the policy of the Coast Guard to issue solicitation and make contract awards in a fair and timely manner. To further this policy, the Commandant has created the position of Solicitation Ombudsman who is empowered to investigate issues raised by prospective offerors and resolve them, where possible, without expensive and timely consuming litigation.
