This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number for this Request for Quote is N00244-97-Q-A811 and the closing date is 9/10/97. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 46. This solicitation is issued 100% Small Business set-a-side. Description: Labor and materials required to perform preservation services for anchors & anchor chain. Contractor to remove anchors and anchor chain, sandblast, prime and paint three (3) anchors and a total of 23 shots of chain and re-install them upon completion. To include: (1) fwd port anchor (8)shots, (2) fwd starboard anchor (8 shots), (3) aft anchor (7 shots). Contractor to utilize Ameronpaint system, (which includes but is not limited to; Paint, black, silicon alkyd enamel, color number 27038 of DOD-E-24635; Paint, white, striping, color number 27886 of FED SPEC TT-E-490; Paint, red, striping, color number 11105 of FED SPEC TT-E-489; Paint, blue, striping, color number 15123 of FED SPEC TT-E489), or equivalent in accordance with requirements of PMS check H-102/9 36M-1. Period of performance: 15 Sep 1997 through 15 Nov 1997. Location of equipment: USS McKee AS-41, North Pier at Subase Point Loma, San Diego, CA 92106. Contractor is responsible to provide all necessary labor and material required to perform requested service. Including but not limited to tools, equipment, supplies, materials, barges, cranes, etc. Ship's personnel will provide assistance with lowering of the chain from the ship.
