COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 2,1997 PSA#1921PATENT & TRADEMARK OFFICE -- ELECTRONIC COMMERCE SYSTEM The U.S. Patent
and Trademark Office is establishing an electronic commerce system to
acquire commonly and repetitively purchased commodities, supplies and
services. Initially these will include 1)70-Information Technology
equipment, software, and support services; 2)71-Office Furniture; and
3)75-Office Supplies. The system will be Internet based where qualified
offerors are awarded Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs). BPA holders
then access procurement opportunities which generally are below the
Simplified Acquisition Threshold in value and can submit price
quotations. Only firms determined qualified under pre-established
criteria are eligible to receive BPA awards and can participate on
individual procurement actions. Interested firms are referred to the
