Philbrick, Contracting Officer, 617-377-3244. This project is to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to complete the project. The work includes but is not limited to the existing fire alarm smoke detectors, heat/thermal detectors, and fire alarm sensors will be replaced throughout the facility. New detectors and sensors will utilize existing fire alarm wiring and mounting boxes, if compatible. The new detectors and sensors will be monitored by the existing Facility Monitoring System (FMS) located in Building 2. Existing fire alarm smoke detectors, heat/thermal detectors, sensors, and fire alarm control panels will be replaced for the outlying buildings (Bldg 2 being the central monitoring facility). New fire alarm equipment shall be completely compatible for all functions indicated with the existing FMS. Existing fire sprinkler system water flow switches will be replaced throughout the facility. New switches/sensors will utilize existing fire alarm wiring. Water flow switches will be mounted at the same location on each pipe as existing switches. Existing fire spinkler system OS&Y valve tamper switches will be replaced throughout the facility. The magnitude of construction for this project is bwtween $25,000 and $100,000. This simplified acquisition procedure is unrestricted. All firms requesting a package will indicate whether or not they are a small, small disadvantaged, or women owned business concern. Packages will be mailed out on 15 September and quotes will be due tentatively on 24 Sep 97.
