The Marine Corps is seeking sources for the purchase of 4800 each remanufactured or new M998 series vehicle diesel engine, w/container, P/N 5705628. This is a 6.2L eight cylinder, four-cycle, liquid-cooled, naturally aspirated diesel engine, with a compression ratio of 21.5:1 developing approximately 150 horsepower (112kw) at 3600 rpm. The cylinder heads must meet the latest emission standards. The engine is equipped with reverse throat precombustion chambers. The exhaust valves are coated with chrome to prevent burning and to increase durability. The engine is equipped with an exhaust valve stem seal. The cylinder head gaskets have circular combustion seals and are made of non-asbestos material. Deliver engines to MCLB, Albany, GA. Engines are to be individually containerized for shipping and storage purposes. Offers will be in writing and must also address delivery schedules and estimated budgetary costs.
