Reesman, Contracting Officer, (205) 955-1187 The U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command (USASSDC) intends to enter into a noncompetitive contract for "Propulsion Systems Technical Expertise for the Strategic Targets Product Office." The proposed contract is for a period of performance for six (6) months for basic effort and twenty-four (24) months for an Option. This propulsion technical assistance will involve technical support of the former Polaris A3 motors and assistance in refurbishing and flight certifying these motors for STARS missions. They will also be involved in making recommendations to the product office in the care, storage, selection, and flight certification processing of STARS propulsion components at Alliant TechSystems, Inc. (ATK), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and other storage/processing locations. A SECRET facility clearance will be required for this effort. There is no foreign participation expected in this acquisition. Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 (b)(1), this action is directed toward ALLIANT TECHSYSTEMS, INC.
