a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial item prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with
additional information mentioned in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition is set
aside for small business. The work covered in this statement of work
consists of furnishing all plant, personnel, labor, materials, tools,
equipment and transportation necessary to perform all operation in
connection with the complete re-installation of government furnished
air structure to include all wires tie down entry ways anchors, angle
iron, cables etc. Location: Building 1550 base pool, Hanscom AFB,
Bedford, MA. Principle features: the work to be performed consists of
the following principle features and must meet all local, state and
federal codes. Supervisor: the contractor shall have a supervisor on
site at all times during removal. Normal working hours: Monday through
Friday 0730 to 1630 (excluding weekends and holidays). Any changes to
these hours shall be coordinated through the contracting office, 72
hours in advance. Period of performance: re-install 15, 16, 17, and 18
Sep 97. The contractor shall notify Mr. J Simmons at 617-377-2455, at
least 48 hours prior to construction start. Contractor shall be
responsible to verify all measurements in the field. Clean up:
contractor shall be responsible for daily clean up of the work site,
more often as necessary to maintain a clean and safe working
environment. New work: re-installation, the contractor shall insure
that all of the necessary parts are together and ready to make
installation of the air structure. The contractor shall pre-erect all
metal doors and hardware and repair or replace damaged parts. Insure
that the revolving door is in good condition. Make all necessary
repairs to insure proper operation. Lay out the air structure in a dry
area and inspect for damage that may inhibit the installation.
Properly clean the inner and outer layers before inflation. Make all
necessary repairs to air structures inner and outer layers as necessary
to insure proper inflation. Make all repairs per the manufactures
recommended procedures. Run the guide wires across the pool to carry
the bubble. Insure that the interior pool lining is protected from
damage by laying plywood or other material in the pool, around the
concrete perimeter deck of the pool and making the workers wear shoes
with soft soles. The contractor shall be responsible for any damages to
the air structure and shall make all repairs at no cost to the
government. Insure that the air structure is secure in all respects to
the tie down bolts and that support wires are properly placed before
starting to inflate the air structure. The contractor shall insure that
the air structure is installed according to the manufactures
recommended procedures. FAR 52.212-1, instruction to

evaluation criteria to be included in paragraph (a) is price.
