N -- PROOF AND FUNCTION BULLET TRAP (PFBT) DUE 090897 POC Joan Bennett (202) 514-2062 THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION. BIDS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. THE FOLLOWING REPLACES DESC SHOWN IN SUBMISSION NO. 116374. The Proof and Function Bullet Trap (PFBT) must include the following: Target area shall be no less than 48" square; Bullet impact area shall be rated to .600 nitro express; Bullet trap shall prove a means of capturing the projectiles safely & without health and environmental problems; Unit shall be designed to capture projectiles from pistols, rifles, and shotguns without a degradation of the impact area. Velocity rating shall be from 10 to 3,500' per second; Unit shall provide a means of recovering the spent projectiles in an environmentally safe manner; Maintenance of unit shall be extremely low; Unit shall be no largerthan 5' wide, 9' high and 15' long; Unit shall be constructed in such a manner that will not allow the projectile or pieces of the projectile to come back to the shooter; Unit shall be able to be installed in an existing 24x8x12' room; Unit or assembly must be able to pass thru a 34" hallway and make a 90 degree turn through a 35x83" doorway; Vendor shall deliver all equipment and provide equipment protection during transit and job storage; Vendor shall be responsible for assembly installation of entire unit; Vendor shall be responsible for all electrical wiring if required; Vendor shall be responsible for any damage incurred to the walls or ceiling during installation of unit. Vendor may use the ceiling to attach hoists or lifting devices but assumes the responsibility for any damage that may incur and must repair the damage to the satisfaction of office Administrator. There shall be a 2 year warranty on this machine. The warranty shall include coverage for all parts, labor and maintenance for 2 years. (0241)
