The Government intends to extend the current contract with Blue Cross-Blue Shield South Carolina for eight months from 01 Nov 97 to 30 June 97. The contract is for the acquisition of services that include the implementation and operation of a CHAMPUS Fiscal Intermediary (FI) System to process claims for all health care services received in the Contract Region (Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin), regardless of the patient's place of residence, with the exception of beneficiaries who reside in states included under the jurisdiction of a Managed Care Support contract. A claims processing system for the accurate adjudication of CHAMPUS claims to provide payment or denial must be in accordance with CHAMPUS law, regulation, and OCHAMPUS policies and standards. The Government intends to extend the current contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested vendors that are capable of providing the required service are invited to submit in writing information explaining their ability to meet this requirement. All responsible sources will be considered. No solicitation is available. Responses must be in writing and refer to MDA906-95-D-0008, Attn: Darlene M. Gonzales. If no affirmative responses are received within 30 days from the date this synopsis is published, the Contracting Officer will proceed to issue the contract extension. (0241)
