This is a contemplated sole source to Automated Prescription Systems Inc., P.O. Box 4118, Pineville, LA 71361-4118. The solicitation number for this announcement is F08651-98-Q-0159 and is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, facilities, equipment, tools, materials, parts and transportation as necessary to provide for installation, rental and perpetual maintenance of Baker 103 computerized bulk pill dispensing systems. The systems shall include drug cells, super cells, computer interfaces, cassette counters, and cassettes. The systems must be compatibly computer-interfaced with the Composite Health Care System (CHCS). The CHCS system was manufactured by Digital Equipment Corp. The terminal server for interface with the Baker Cells was manufactured by ABLE Computer Company. The CHCS software system was engineered by Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC Code) for this acquisition is 7359 ($5M). Please identify whether you are a large or small business based on this SIC Code. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42.
