PAL (Pre-Authorized Automated Lane) to approximately one mile (including taper). The PAL will be separated from the remaining northbound lanes by a barrier and shoulders and will require realignment of the other northbound lanes. The existing secondary inspection area will be relocated. The PAL technology will consist of additional signage and signal lights. The following are sole source items: inductive loop speed calculator; magnetic loop; in-ground AVI antenna embedded in the roadway; overhead AVI antenna; and AVI equipment cabinet located at different intervals throughout the PAL. Transcore, Inc is the only known firm that can provide the sole source items previously referenced. See Note 22. The estimated cost range is $1,000,000.00 -- $5,000,000.00.
