The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, (APHIS), National Veterinary Services Labs, Ames, IA is amending its solicitation for proposals, 74-M-APHIS-97, to convert up to 20 Medallion G. P. Sterilizers to Eagle 3000 Stage 3 Control. This solicitation is amended to be a full and open competition and not a small business set aside procurement. There will be a requirement over the next forty-eight months to convert up to 20 Medallion G. P. Sterilizers to Eagle 3000 stage 3 control units. Government furnished property, 20 autoclave sterilizers, will be provided as is for upgrade. Place of performance is USDA, APHIS, National Veterinary Services Lab, 13th and Dayton Road, Ames, IA 50010. Training is to be provided to two NVSL employees after 3 or 4 autoclave sterilizers have been rebuilt and within 6 months after date of award. This training will enable the employees to perform maintenance or repairs on the converted units. Offerors are asked to include information regarding the training to be provided, the method by which the units will be upgraded, maintenance and repair services available and prices and any other information that should be considered during proposal review. Three units may to be converted by September 30, 1997 and the rest as funds become available over the next 48 months. The solicitation is also amended to include "name brand or equal" provisions and clauses. The "salient characteristics" are provided for this requirement. The proposal due date is changed to COB September 12, 1997. (0241)
