SM-ALC is a major depot support facility at McClellan AFB CA, providing analytical condition inspection, modification, depot maintenance, repair/overhaul, and associated backshop and distribution support for aircraft, electrical accessories, instruments/electronics and hydraulics to support Air Force, National Guard, Reserve, Army, Navy, and other operational forces. The support provided by SM-ALC is critical to the national defense and must continue uninterrupted and without loss of mission effectiveness indefinitely into the future. This acquisition responds to the continuing requirements for depot maintenance support for Air Force, DoD, and other agencies by transferring specified SM-ALC depot workload and supporting services to another source before base closure. The transfer of workloadsmade available for competition will be accomplished by using a formal public/private competitive process. Workloads include hydraulics repair operations, electrical accessories repair operations, aircraft (KC-135/A-10) program depot maintenance repair, instruments repair and backshop/manufacturing support. Offerors are required to propose on the entire requirement. There is no formal source list available.
