R -- EVALUATE EFFECTIVENESS OF LACTATION MANAGEMENT CURRICULUM GUIDE SOL HRSA-97-MCHB-H0838A DUE 091897 POC Aileen Broider-301-443-5231 The Health Resources and Services Administration intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with Wellstart International, Corporate Headquarters, 4062 First Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103-2045. This procurement shall be processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The purpose of this procurement is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Lactation Management Curriculum Guide (LMCG) for faculty of medical, nursing and nutrition programs, to identify any needed changes, revise accordingly, and recommend the next steps for use of this tool in strategizing for sustainable, cost-effective promotion of breast feeding in the United States through pre-service curriculum changes. The contractor shall: develop an assessment tool; compile and analyze results of the assessment tool and prepare a summary report; convene a technical advisory group to review and recommend revisions to the document; revise the LMCG; and recommend a plan of action for initiating preservice curriculum changes in medical, nursing and nutrition programs. The Wellstart International, Corporate Headquarters is deemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required work and services. The period of performance is one year.
