THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF PROVIDING THE LABOR, EQUIPMENT, AND MATERIALS TO REFURBISH THE APPROXIMATELY 15,000 SQUARE-FOOT HIGH BAY AREA OF BLDG. 4649 AND THE ADDITION OF APPROXIMATELY 4,200 SQUARE FEET TO HOUSE A LASER ROOM AND TWO MECHANICAL ROOMS. THE WORK WILL INCLUDE UPGRADING THE HEATING, VENTILATION, AND AIRCONDITIONING AND ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO PROVIDE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL FOR ENTIRE FACILITY; RESURFACE FLOOR AND COAT WITH EPOXY; CONSTRUCT NEW CORRIDOR TO FORM AN AIRLOCK; MODIFY RESTROOMS; ENCLOSE PRESENT HANGAR DOOR; MODIFY TWO EXISTING HIGH BAY CRANES; AND MISCELLANEOUS PAINTING, CLEANING, INSULATION, UTILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, FIRE SPRINKLERS, AND ELECTRICAL WORK. REQUEST FOR SOLICATIONS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING, WITH COMPLETE BUSINESS NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE/FAX NUMBERS. ALL REQUEST FOR SOLICIATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR ($100.00) CASHIER'S CHECK MADE PAYABLE TO "NASA CASHIER". The order of magnitude for the procurement is BETWEEN $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 270 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1541. The corresponding size standard is $17.0M. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about 09-19-97 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 10-21-97. The firm date for receipt of BIDS will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the identified point of contact. All responsible BUSINESS sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
