laptop computers meeting the following specifications: 133 Mhz Pentium
or greater, 32 Mb RAM, 1 gig or higher hard drive, 1.44mb Floppy disk
drive, 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port, PS/2 mouse port, PS/2 Keyboard
port, VGA monitor port, RJ-11 Phone Jack, Integral Antenna, Built in
pointing device, PCMCIA Type II & Type III slots(capable of being
simultaneously accessed), Active or Dual Scall Color (640x480) minimum,
Touch Screen, DC Adapter for cigarette lighter, AC Adapter, Integrated
vehicle cradle, rechargeable battery pack (min 2.o Ahr), External
battery charger, Enclosure housing: 12.5" W x 4" H x 8.5" D Maximum
size, 7 pounds maximum weight, Built in carrying handle, Full sized
water sealed keyboard, Protection for all through enclosure instrusions
(serial/parallel ports, power input ports, PCMCIA slots etc.)from water
intrusion and salt spray with non-breakable doors and accesses,
Intrinsically safe for Class I, Division 2 locations IAW NEC 70-500
series. Environmental Specifications: Rain: 12-14 inches per hour @ 40
psi for 40 min per axis for all axes per MIL STD 810E, 506.3 Proc III
or similar, Humidity: 5% to 80% operating, 5% to 95% storage, Salt: 5%
@ 80% humidity over 48 hours, Temperature: Operating 15 degree to 50
degree C, Storage -- 20 degree to 60 degree C, Shock: Operating MIL STD
810E, 516.4, Proc I to I or similar, Vibration: Operating .04g2/HZ over
20-1000 Hz random. Evaluation Method, Pricing, Availability of the
product and Technical Specifications: Vendor will provide at time of
quote, written documentation that their product complies with the
Environmental Specifications outlined above and how the determination
was made that the computer is intrinsically safe. This action is a
total small business set-asside. Multiple awards may be made. All
quotes must be received by close of business on 22 September 1997. All
quotes are to be faxed to the attention of Susan E. Stevens at
