Musgrove, Contracting Officer (301) 295-6491 The National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) has a requirement for the Malaria Program, Naval Medical Research Institute (NMRI), IDD Annex, 12300 Washington Avenue, Rockville, MD 20852. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced purchase order to Biomedical Research Institute (BRI), 12111 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, MD 20852 for the following: Rental and maintenance thereof, of three (3) -70C freezers (BRI owned) and storage, inventory services, and maintenance of two (2) LN2, Model LZ100, Serial# 348-B and Model 22, Serial# T-33 (Navy owned) freezers. This includes the organization and tracking of biological specimens contained in these units. Based on lack of space at the Annex, this facility and equipment is located within 1/2 mile proximity from the Annex, thereby providing ready access by Government personnel to specimens stored there. Award will be made in the form of a purchase order for a base year period of one (1) year effective 1 October 1997 through 30 September 1998 with two (2) year options. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be contingent upon availability of FY98 funding. (0246)
