Smith (701)723-3829 Contractor to provide all labor, parts, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to provide Network Cabling. All category 5 ethernet planning, installation and specifications shall be approved in advance by the 5th Communications Squadron. The cable shall be new, unused, and of current design and manufacture. The contractor chosen to do the installation shall provide manufacturer installation procedures and technical support concerning any items used in this project ot the 5th Communications Squadron. The contractor shall be responsible for installing, termination, testing, and certifying all category 5 ethernet cable drops. The contractor will also be responsible for removing all existing category 3 and category 5 cable drops as part of the installation. All cable runs must be placed in existing cable trays and run through existing conduit when possible. All cable shall be terminated in accordance with the industry standard color codes. Lable all cable drops at temination locations toprovide for port management by room/port number. All category 5 ethernet cable drops must test and certify at category 5 transmission specifications. All test results must be provided to the 5th Communications Squadron. All outlying hubs/patch panels must be wall mounted. All category 5 ethernet runs that come directly into the main computer room must be terminated via a rack mount patch panel that will support all incoming category 5 and fiber optic cable runs. The contractor will provide and install the rack mount and associated patch panels to provide facility wide network connectivity. Drawings and specifications will be available on or about September 9, 1997. Performance period is thirty days. (0246)
