HIGGINBOTHAM (205) 235-7323 (Site Code DAAC01) Contractor shall provide abrasive grain (coal ore slag), in bulk and 100 pound bags. The abrasive grain shall be a coal ore slag, uniform and angular in shape. The abrasive shall be a commercial 1040 grade or medium 40 material. The required chemical composition of the coal ore slag will be stated in the solicitation specifications. The abrasive grain will be used to blast clean metal surfaces, such as turrets and hulls, for removing rust, scale and paint and to provide surfaces that are clean and suitable for painting. This is a requirements type contract for a base year and two one year options. The annual usage is approximately 700 tons of the bulk and 3000 bags of the bags.
