58 -- PURCHASE OF BRAVO LX PAGERS SOL 69D-358-97 DUE 091997 POC Diane Brazale, Contracting Officer (414) 902-5403 The Great Lakes Healthcare System Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Motorola Communications of 7230 Parkway Drive in Hanover MD 21076 for the purchase of 190 BRAVO LX PAGERS which must be compatible with existing Motorola paging equipment located at the VA Medical Center, 5000 W. National Ave. Milwaukee WI 53295. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Far Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.Quotes are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation No. 69D- 358-97 applies and is issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 46. This procurement is UNRESTRICTED. SIC (3663). Contractor shall provide One Hundred and Ninety (190) Bravo LX Pagers with a frequency of 164.175000 MHz with an extended three (3) year warranty and 10 (Ten) KEYNOTE VOICE PAGERS with a frequency of 164.175000 MHz with an extended five (5) year warranty.Numbering Sequence for the Bravo LX Pagers shall begin with cap code 0876427 and Numbering for the Keynote Voice Pagers shall be: B109, B111, B112, B113, B116, B117, B118, B119, B122 and B123. Offerors are required to provide standard warranty information. In the event that the vendor's standard warranty is less than the warranty periods required, the vendor will provide "extended" warranty information and cost of same. Total Cost of warranty services must be for the time frames indicated. Vendor shall provide a separate cost item for 190 Bravo LX Pagers, 3 year warranty service for the LX Pagers, Cost for the 10 Keynote Voice Pagers and for the 5 year extended warranty on the Keynote Pagers. REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1) 12 digit LCD Top Mount Display; 2) 120 Character Total Memory: Five 24 Digit Messages (GCS) or six 20 digit messages (POCSAG); 3) Duplicate message detection; 4) Tone & Visual Alerts; 5) MEMO-LERT Deferred Paging; 6)VIB RA-Page Silent Alerting; 7) Removable Belt Clip, 8) Group Call GSC & POCSAG 512/200 coding formats; 9) LB, VHF, UHF and 900 MHz bands, 10) EPROM for coding and 11) AA Alkaline Battery. In addition, Pagers must be compatible with current Bravo Numeric Pagers Model A03JRC5961CA. Capcodes for Pagers must be interchangeable within the existing VA System (example: Pager 6301 has a capcode of 0876301 and goes out for repair. Pager 6304 is given as a loaner. VA needs to be able to change the capcode on 6304 from 0876304 to 0876301 so that if 6301 is paged, 6304 is activated). A Loaner pager will be provided by the vendor at no additional cost to the Government in the event a pager needs to be sent out for repair. Any pager which is in the need of repair shall be returned to the VA withi 15 workdays from ship date. Offerors are requested to provide their most current catalogue price list. This will be a firm fixed price contract. FOB is Destination.
