Swanson, Contract Specialist, (615) 454-7841 This procurement is for a cast aluminum bellmouth, 45.3 inches at the throat, and matching conical inlet adapter. All inside surfaces are to be machined smooth. Conical adapter is 96.0 inches inside diameter at the large end. Both pieces have flanged ends. Heat treatment is required. Quantity -- 2 each. Delivery will be 168 days from contract award to Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. This bellmouth will be used to test Pratt and Whitney engines. Pratt and Whitney is purchasing similar bellmouths; therefore, same vendor is required ot use same machining, guaranteeing, as much as possible, that the calibrations performed at Arnold will cross correlate those used by Pratt and Whitney. No solicitation package will be issued. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses received to this synopsis.
