628-4645. This a notice of Request for Quotation. Written quotations
will be required. The RFQ will be issued on or about 22 September 1997.
Anticipated award date is on or about 16 October 1997. Provide all
labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs
including the following Minimum Items: 1)Clean Galley Gaylord Hood and
Exhaust Ventilation Ducting. 2)Clean Ventilation Systems. 3) Renew
Potable Water Piping. 4) Hydraulic System Cleaning. 5) Inspect and
Calibrate Steering Units. 6) Relocate Helmsmen Chair on the Bridge. 7)
Inspect Reduction Gear. 8) Level One Inspection of Chain Inhaul
Device. 9) Provide Temporary Logistics. Indefinite Items include: 1)
Provide Additional Temporary Logistics. Vessel's homeport is Newport,
Rhode Island. Vessel length is 225 foot Seagoing Buoy Tender. Vessel
availability schedule is on or about 20 October 1997 for 21 days. There
will be a nonrefundable charge of $100.00 required in the form of a
certified check or money order payable to the U.S. Coast Guardfor
requested drawings. All referenced documents are available for viewing
at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Funds are not
presently available for this procurement. The government's obligation
under this solicitation is contingent upon availability of appropriated
funds from which payment for contractual purposes can be made. The
proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be
issued on or after 22 September 1997. All responsible sources may
submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast
Guard. This Notice is for information purposes for Minority Women-Owned
and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
