Burks, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5021 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) announces a technical exchange meeting and pre-solicitation conference on Ukrainian SS-24 Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Propellant Extraction. The requirements are for removal and stabilization of the propellant, providing containers for the removed materials, and cleaning the interior of the motor cases. The requirement does not include any value added processing of extracted propellant materials to enhance its commercial value. The technical exchange meeting will be held on 20-22 Oct 97 at 8:30 AM at Holiday Inn Historic, 625 First Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. On 20 or 21 Oct companies may present a private briefing summarizing their approach to the stated requirements to Ukrainian and U.S. Government officials. Briefings, not including question and answers, shall be no longer than 45 minutes. An additional 45 minutes will be utilized for a question and answer session. The briefings will egin at 10:00 AM on 20 Oct and at 8:30 AM on 21 Oct. The pre-solicitation conference will be held on 22 Oct 97 at 8:30 AM at the same location. Companies who do not present on 20 or 21 Oct are not precluded from attending the pre-solicitation conference. The pre-solicitation conference is intended to promote dialog between U.S. and Ukrainian Government representatives and private sector companies with experience in removing solid propellant from SRMs. All those wishing to attend shall fax a letter including the company name and attendees to DSWA/AMD, ATTN: Sheila K.
