NASA GSFC/WFF plans to issue a Request for Offers for Modification of Building N-162 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Virginia 23337. The scope of work for this project shall include, but is not limited to: the upgrade of miscellaneous architectural finishes, mechanical systems, and electrical components, including removal of vinyl asbestos tile (VAT) flooring; installation of vinyl composition tile (VCT) flooring, suspended acoustical tile ceiling (SATC) system, removal of asbestos ceiling tiles and system, removal and installation of gypsum wallboard and concrete masonry unit partitions; removal of raised computer flooring; architectural painting; replacement of personnel doors, frames and hardware; installation of aluminum windows; toilet and kitchen modifications; repair of exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS); replacement of built-up roof system with a modified bitumen membrane roof system, insulation, gutters, downspouts and flashings; modifications to the fire protection system; modification to existing HVAC; replacement of fluorescent lighting; and the re-working of existing electrical systems to accommodate the changes indicated herein. This procurement is being conducted under NASA MidRange Procurement Procedures. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 240 calendar days after notice to proceed. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1542. The corresponding size standard is $17,000,000.00. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 09/22/97 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 10/22/97. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Bid packages containing specifications and drawings will be available at a nonrefundable cost of $100.00. Requests are to be forwarded to: NASA/GSFC, Sandra S.
