This is a combined synopsis / solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subparts 12.6 and 13.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be issued; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this Request For Quote is N00244-97-Q-B042. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition circular 46. This solicitation is issued on a restricted basis. The Standard Industrial Code is 3842 and applies to businesses with less than 500 employees. FISC San Diego has a requirement for Firefighting clothing and accessories. Statement of work / specifications: 1) 60 ea. Aluminized PBI Kevlar jacket ensemble per ARFF Index with the following features/accessories: a) auxiliary NOMEX /leather military flight gloves, available in assorted sizes, and aluminized PBI/Kevlar wristlet gloves, b) jackets require Breathetex spunlace moisture barrier with Caldura quilt liner, padded elbow reinforcements, and shoulder pads sewn between moisture barrier and liner, c) sleeves shall have hand and wrist guards, and double sleeve wells with elasticized ends, d) blank name label on right breast, e) NFPA 1976 label on shell and liner, f) FAA 150-5210-14A label on shell, g) standard closure with zipper on inside and Velcro on outside, h) universal clip, i) Aluminized PBI/Kevlar lift front hood, j) available in assorted sizes[to be determined after award], 2) 60 ea. Aluminized PBIT/Kevlar trousers per AEFF Index with the following features/accessories: aa) Caldura quilt liner, ab) semi-bellows pockets on thighs, ac) egress knife pocket with knife, ad) replaceable knee patches, ae) interior knee padding, af) water dam at cuffs, ag) FAA 150-5210-14A label on shell, ah) available in assorted sizes[to be determined after award], 3) Delivery is to San Diego activity. Inspections and acceptance of material will be done by the receiving officer.
