The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk, Detachment Philadelphia, intends to modify contract N00140-93-C-CE37 with EMSA Limited Partnership to provide for additional Emergency Room Services. These additional hours are required to ensure continuity of care at the Naval Hospital Lemoore, Lemoore, California. The subject contract currently provides the Emergency Room hours through 30 September 1997. The proposed modification will provide additional Emergency Room Hours for a five month base and three one-month option extension of services through 31 May 1998 to ensure continuity of care at the Naval Hospital Lemoore until the competitive follow-on contract can begin. The proposed modification will provide 16,335 Emergency Room hours, along with options for up to an additional 9,801 hours. FISC Norfolk, Detachment Philadelphia intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with EMSA Limited Partnership for this requirement. This firm is considered the only source capable of providing services which meet all of the Navy's requirements by the date when the currently available hours will be exhausted. Interested parties may identify their interest and prove their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received within forty-five (45) days after date of original publication of this notice of intent will be considered by the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received. Note 22 applies. (0248)
