R -- PROVIDE HIV/AIDS OUTREACH AND EDUCATION TO FARMWORKERS SOL HRSA-97-BPHC-A219522 DUE 092297 POC Aileen Broider-301-443-5231 The Health Resources and Services Administration intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with the Farmworker Justice Fund, Inc., 1111 19th Street, N.W., Washington, DC, 20036. This procurement shall be processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The purpose of this procurement is to provide training, organization and coordination to members of farmworker communities in Texas and Arizona in conducting HIV/AIDS outreach and education. The contractor shall: develop models of education; convene an advisory committee to recruit key migrant farm workers to be trained as community health workers and train them; supervise these community health workers; evaluate the program and develop recommendations; and submit a final report. The Farmworker Justice Fund, Inc. is deemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required work and services. The period of performance is one year.
