This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only Request For Quotation that will be issued; quotations are being requested and a written RFQ will not be issued. This request is issued under RFQ DACW62-97-Q-0043. The Nashville District Corps of Engineers intends to purchase one commercially available off-the-shelf (1 each) Clamshell Bucket with a spare parts package. Specifications are: 3 1/2 cubic yard capacity, All welded steel construction (minimum 70,00 PSI yield with 100,000 PSI yield in critical areas), Without teeth, 6 Part (5 sheaves) 1" wire rope reaving, All pins, shafts, sheaves, and rollers to be heat-treated alloy steel, Alloy bronze sheave bushings, Minimum material handling capacity 140 pounds per cubic foot, Not to exceed 11,000 pounds total wight as delivered. Spare parts package to include: 1 each Main shaft, 4 each Main shaft bushings, 4 each Upper guide rollers, 4 each Upper guide roller pins, 2 each Guide sheaves w/bushings, 2 each Guide sheave pins, 2 each Upper arm pins, 4 each Upper arm pin bushings, 4 each Lower arm pins, 4 each Lower arm pin bushings, 1 each Upper sheave pin, 1 each Lower sheave pin, 5 each Main sheaves w/bushings, and 4 each Wire rope rollers and spacers. The Government will make a firm, fixed price award resulting form this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Delivery is FOB Destination at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Physical Support Branch, Plant Section, (Stephen Moneymaker), 1180 Cinder Road, Old Hickory, TN 37138-3904. Delivery is required within 30 days after date of award. Inspection and acceptance will be at destination. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular No. 45, Jan 2, 1997.
