synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This annoucement constitutes the
only Request For Quotation that will be issued; quotations are being
requested and a written RFQ will not be issued. This request is issued
under RFQ DACW62-97-Q-0044. The Nashville District Corps of Engineers
intends to purchase one commercially available off-th-shelf Rip-Rap
Grapple Bucket. Specifications are: 2.0 cubic yard capacity; 2-line;
7-tine; sheaved for 1" rope; steel to be 70,000 to 100,000 psi minimum
yield. The Government will make a firm, fixed price award resulting
from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer
conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the
Government, price and other factors considered. Delivery is FOB
Destination at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Physical Support
Branch, Plant Section, (Stephen Moneymaker), 1180 Cinder Road, Old
Hickory, TN 37138-3904. Delivery is required within 30 days after date
of award. Inspection and acceptance will be at destination. The
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular No. 45, Jan 2, 1997. The
following FAR clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions
to Offerors-Commercial Items; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items; 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions
required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items,
and DFAR clause 252.225-7001, Buy American Act and Balance of Payments
Program. All quotations must include (1) Unit and extended price for
the Rip-Rap Grapple Bucket, (2) Product Literature, and (3) A completed
copy of the provisions at FAR 52.212-3, Representations and
Certifications -- Commercial Items (available at www.ARNet.gov/far)
with their quotation and DFAR 252.225-7000, Buy American Act -- Balance
of Payments Program Certificate. Pursuant to FAR 52.212-5, the
following clauses are hereby incorporated by reference: 52.222-26,
Equal Opportunity; 52.222-35, Affirmative Action for Special Disabled
and Vietnam Era Veterans; 52.22-36, Affirmative Action for Handicapped
Workers; 52.222-37, Employment Reports on Special Disabled Veterans
and Veterans of the Vietnam Era. These clauses can be found in full

synopsis/Request For Quotation are due NLT 1630, 25 September 1997.

Business Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3531
and to be classified as a Small Business, the company cannot have more
