96: NDI, Airborne Qualified, UHF SATCOM and LOS/DAMA-capable integrated
terminals. UHF SATCOM Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) Terminal
Program. The UHF SATCOM Terminal Development Office (ESC/MCP) at
Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, announces the following Notice
Of Contract Action (NOCA). The Airborne Integrated Terminal Group
(AITG) Request For Proposal (RFP) is scheduled to be released
on-or-about 24 Sep 97. The RFP is expected to be for a best estimated
quantity of 332 AITGs over a period of five (5) years. The RFP will
cover the following areas: Pre-production and production of an austere
AITG, pre-production qualification, Integrated Master Plan (IMP),
Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), migration plan from austere AIT to
enhanced AIT, pre-production and production of an enhanced AITG,
pre-operational support, and Associated Contractor Agreements (ACA) to
assist integrating contractors, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
including initial Type 1 training and source data. An AITG includes an
AIT, RCU, mounting/cooling assembly tray, low noise amplifier, and
possibly a diplexer. Minimum austere AIT technical features include the
following: Half duplex UHF DAMA and non-DAMA SATCOM; MIL-STD-188-181,
-182, -183 compliant, JITC certified; UHF single channel LOS AM; 100
watt SATCOM power amplifier; Embedded ANDVT, VINSON, and KG-84; Voice
and data input/output (I/O); Remote Control Unit (RCU) terminal
control; VHF LOS AM 25 kHz and 8.33 kHz channel spacing; Command and
Control co-site performance with RF control;28 VDC and 115 V, 400 Hz AC
primary power; 1600 hours MTBF reliability; 1 ATR long (maximum); 60
lbs (maximum); Airborne qualified. Options to the contract will include
upgrading the AIT from austere to enhanced, production options for both
austere and enhanced AITG, Contractor Logistics Support (CLS),
recurring Type-1 training, and computer based training. Enhanced AIT
technical requirements, in addition to the austere requirements,
include: Full duplex (RF) UHF DAMA and non-DAMA SATCOM; UHF HAVEQUICK
I/II; VHF SINCGARS and single channel FM; Separate VHF/UHF guard
receivers; Red and black 1553 I/O buses for data and control; Software
update interface capability. Request interested offerors provide a
