66 -- INSTRUMENTS AND LABORATORY EQUIPMENT SOL RFQ 70359 DUE 092497 POC Nancy J Hill, Contract Specialist (202) 324-2205 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #70359, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular #90-46. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3826. This will be a Firm-Fixed price contract. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Beckman Instruments Inc. for the following: (1) P/ACE LIF Detector System -- part #477125, (1) P/ACE Station Plus -- part #477794. This purchase is being done on a sole source basis to maintain compatibility with existing laboratory equipment. This system shall be installed in the FBI Laboratory -- FOB destination pricing is requested to Cheverly, Maryland. The following FAR clause and provisions are incorporated by reference and apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (Aug 1996) and each offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR provisions at 52.212-3 Offeror Representation and Certifications (Jan 1997) with its offer.
