B -- CULTURAL RESOURCES MONITORING SERVICES AND DATA RECOVERY AT TWO ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES CA-SDI-12, 628 AND CA-SDI-14, 170 FOR MILCON P527 AT MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA SOL N68711-97-Q-8828 DUE 091597 POC Len Brown, Contract Specialist, (619) 532-1266; Connie Ward, Contracting Officer The Southwest Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command intends to award a contract, on a sole source basis, in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures the aggregate amount of which will not exceed $100,000.00, for cultural resources monitoring services and data recovery at two archaeological sites CA-SDI-12, 628 and CA-SDI-12, 170 for MILCON P527 at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California to KEA Environmental, San Diego, California. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirements. Successful completion of this contract is dependent upon access to archeological data only available to KEA Environmental. It is the Government's position that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and/or unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirement. Therefore, no other offers will be accepted. The contract duration is approximately 540 days. (0252)
