On or about 26 September 1997, this office will issue Request for Proposals for the design and construction of ADMINISTRATION FACILITY/ADDITION TO SECURITY POLICE BUILDING, BUCKLEY ANG BASE, COLORADO. Proposals will be received on or about 12 November 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held at Buckly ANG Base on 7 October 1997 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Design and construction of: Administration Facility includes: 3,803 square meters single story "L" shaped building; Room areas include: lobby and break area, toilet rooms and janitor closets, corridors, classrooms and conference rooms, auditorium and electrical and mechanical rooms; exterior walls of CMU; interior walls of metal studs and gypsum board; floor finishes include: carpet, vinyl composition tile, ceramic tile and sealed concrete; Mechanical HVAC; wet pipe fire protection sprinkler system; trees, shrubs and irrigation system; seeding and sodding; asphalt parking area (193 parking spaces) with concrete curb and gutter; new underground power distribution system and padmounted transformer; pre-wired work stations; CATV coaxial cable; domestic water service lines, fire protection water lines, and sanitary wastewater collection; gas distribution service line; cathodic protection. Addition to Security Police Building includes: 2,400 square feet single story build addition; Room areas include: training, mechanical, and supply staging; exterior walls CMU with facebrick; Mechanical HVAC to include one (1) natural gas fired furnace; and rerouting existing underground feeder. The estimated design and construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000 and $7,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work within the time period submitted with the proposal. after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. The proposal documents are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Proposal documents will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
